Statistics for all

Almost all students at LIFE are taught in statistics and data analysis, but most of them perceive these disciplines as a set of "strange recipes" and have difficulties in using the tools to identify problems later on in their education. Associate professor, Claus Thorn Ekstrøm, would like to change that and designed therefore the project; Statistics for all.
Motivated students learn better and the project focuses on stimulating the students' curiosity and motivation to embrace statistics. This is sought by producing short, illustrative and funny videos, explaining basic statistical concepts, and how everyday problems and curiosities can be addressed by statistics. Older students design and produce the videos in a style known from the TV show on Discovery; "MythBusters". By this peer-to-peer production form, the communication becomes more at eye level with the students and kept within their statistical terminology.
The intention is to use the videos in all statistical introductory courses, as a teaser and spark to stimulate the students' curiosity to learn more. You can read more about the project here.
